If you want to laugh at the absurdity of consumerism, read this article from the Chicago Tribune. This little girl is traumatized because she lost some dolls out of the cargo hold of a plane. One of the dolls, a Marisol Luna from American Girl, had just gotten her hair done at the salon. There is apparently a salon in this store (American Girl Place) where you can pay to have your doll's hair styled. Now she isn't sleeping well after the loss of her dolls, and she cannot even look at the vacation photos. I wonder how she is going to react when she faces real disappointments and loss in her life.
